  GROUNDS FOR DISCONNECTION OR RESTRICTION OF SUPPLY AND CONSEQUENT LEGAL ACTION  
 

 

 
 

If you have failed to pay your water supply and sewerage bill by the due date, which is 30 days after the issue of the bill, and you have failed to make alternative arrangements with us. We may restrict or disconnect the water supply from your property.

If the Bills have not been cleared after three (3) months you will receive a notice to pay within 15 days after which , if the bills are still not cleared, the matter may be referred to a first class Judicial Magistrate of the area in which the premises or land is situated for legal recovery of the debt

If your consumer’s main and private works for connecting to the water supply and sewerage connection have not been sanctioned or do not comply with the applicable laws we may disconnect or restrict your water supply service.

 
     
  Other reasons for disconnecting the water supply service  
 

• The consumer damages or causes damage to occur to a water meter, connection pipe or fitting.
• The consumer causes damage to any pipe or fixture which in turn is causing wastage or contamination of the water
• Where leakage in a service pipe is causing damage to public or private property.
Depending on the seriousness of the problem we any undertake immediate disconnection.
