To resolve any dispute , the consumer may appeal to the principal Chief Engineer cum Secretary of the Department . The Secretary will refer the matter to a Water Adalat. The members of the Adalat. The Members of the Adalats will comprise of the Secretary, the PHE official of the area concerned and the local representative of the area wherever the dispute arises.

 
     
 
This Citizens’ Charter is NOT a legal document that can be enforced against either the Customer or the Water Security and Public Health Engineering Department.

  GLOSSARY OF TERMS USED  
 

Consumers
Any person, welfare association, society, organization or company getting the behalf of the supply or sewerage services from the Department.

 
     
 

Consumers main
The water pipe which connects the Government water main with the consumer’s premises and includes services pipe and internal plumbing lines of the consumer’s premises.

 
     
  Connection point
The point where the Government main is joined to the Consumer’s Main.
 
     
 

Domestic Category
Wastewater from residential premises, boarding and lodging houses, hotels public places, office and all such establishments as are not part of any trade or industries and is wastewater arising out of personal and normal human activities such as drinking , bathing washing and cooking.

 
     
  Premises
Any land/building or any part of the land/building
 
     
 

Private Works
Those works provided by the consumer to allow connection to the Government water supply and sewerage mains and all pipes and fitting needed to allow those services to be used.

 
     
  Trade Wastewater
Any wastewater that is not of the domestic category.
