The WS & PHED is responsible
for providing the essential service of potable
water supply in all the urban and semi-urban
areas of Sikkim. It also provides sewerage
services in Gangtok.
The Citizens’ Charter lays down principles to
guide all functionaries in their dealing with
the consumer of water supply and sewerage
services. It also lays down the rights and
responsibilities of the consumer. We aim to be
an efficient, friendly and self-sustained
provider of service. At the same time we also
request our consumers to actively participate in
our endeavors. The gap between what the
Government spends in providing these services
and the revenue generated has to be reduced, if
we are to achieve a measure of
self-sustainability. We would like the consumers
to be our partners in creating a pollution free
environment.
We are also publishing a small Handbook giving
briefly all essential information including
telephone numbers for complaints/ grievances. We
will distributing this Handbook to all our
customers.
I hope this venture will enable us to renew our
relationship as consumer service provider in an
environment of cooperation. |
